Ko te waiū (kupu o mua: miraka takea mai te kupu Pākehā milk) he wai teatea kutētētia mai ngā ū o te kararehe whakangote. Ko te waiū inumia ngā tangata mai kutētētanga o te kau,[1][2] te nanenane, te "anua" (he ingoa pūtaiao: Bubalus bubalis),[3][4] me te pirikahu.[5][2]

Ka āhei tēnei rawa ki te hangahanga o te kurukuruwhatu, te waipupuru me te "tīhi" (takea mai te kupu Pākehā: cheese, i te reo Hawaii: waiūpaʻa "waiū paka").[6]
