2004, soon after MediaWiki introduced categories

(I'll be perfectly happy if anyone really wants to organise categories; but adding significant Maori language content can be done without using the new category software.)

Progress by June 2006
[takatā pūtake]Now that we have a really active qualified speaker of Te Reo, who has taken an interest in categories (along with other major projects), there has been useful discussion about high-level categories and principles. I think it's time to start a devoted page: project:Wāhanga.

- LookSmart's directory - a lot of time was put into constructing the Zeal list (which was copied to LookSmart every couple of weeks), by unpaid volunteers and trained ontologists, so we may as well learn all we can from it.
