Moengārō

Ko ngā kupu "moengālō" (i te reo Tonga) me "moegālō" (i te reo Hāmoa) he ngā ingoa mōhiohia waenga i ngā tangata Ao-o-Kiwa mō tētahi momo tipu whakatuputupu ki ngā whenua pārūrū.^[1] Ko te ingoa pūtaiao o tēnei tipu he Cymbopogon. He rongonui te momo tipu Cymbopogon citratus^[2] nō tēnei puninga. He rapa me kōripi te raurau, he kakara ngā tā.

Ka mahi ngā tāngata Hāmoa me Tonga ki tona raurau mō te rongoā i te mate ā-waha.^[3]^[4] Ka whakamahia tā moengārō pakaru ki ngā kai tunua i te Āhia-ki-te-Rāwhiti-mā-Tonga mō te namunamuā.^[5]
