Pia (tipu)

Ko te pia he ingoa mōhiohia waenga i ngā tangata Ao-o-Kiwa pērā i te Hāmoa, Rarotonga me Hawaii mō tētahi momo tipu whakatupu ki ngā raorao o te whenua pārūrū.[1] Ko te ingoa pūtaiao o tēnei tipu he Tacca leontopetaloides.[2][1]
Ka mahi te tāngata Hawaii ki tona kōpura mātotoru (hua i te reo Hawaii) me te wakuwaku ki te mea nehu, ā, ka ranu te nehu nei me te roro niu, me te paka tō. Ka hoatu tēnei ranu ki te umu mō te whakamamaoa; ka tunua ia ki te kai rite te purini ingoatia ko te "haupia".[3][4]
