Haeremai

Kia ora, member number 48! An energetic start (just like your start in "en" last year). Yes, I will send a message to your "en" page, but I like to leave a greeting here for when you return. Robin Patterson 19:55, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Some help for members who know very little of the Maori language

[takatā pūtake]

My "model" pages are available to start a page quickly or supply ideas. One of the more useful is en:User:Robin Patterson/MaoriModelPeoplePages. A couple of others are in the same general area with similar names. Robin Patterson 22:13, 5 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Upgrading substubs to stubs - and those funny macrons

[takatā pūtake]

Kia ora, James. Thanks for the frequency of recent contributions.

I've looked at your recent stubs as requested. Seem to be passable, to my unskilled eye. The addition of "ki Aotearoa" to "Timaru" would add a bit of value easily, and the image on its English page may be worth a try. Hotere could have his "References and further reading" added as a Tūranga tukutuku paragraph. Have you found my en:User:Robin Patterson/MaoriModelPeoplePages?

You're still using those new macrons. Do they look like macrons to you? To me, at least on this office PC, they are out to the right over a blank space. In the two macronned words in the altered stub message, you can get away with it because the words are basically compound anyway and are sometimes split. Better than the rectangle my home PC displays for me, I guess!

Kia ora Robin - it was a glitch with using IE for Macintosh - not the most stable of combinations. BTW, you're more likely to get a response if you use my user talk page at en.wiki - I'm not on the maori site often enough to reply frequently! Grutness

Four interwikis! (Welcome back!) Robin Patterson 10:21, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

I just got bored with what I was doing on en:wiki and realised there wasn't an article on In'gll. :) Grutness 13:25, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

Sorry, Kahuroa - you'll have to speak slowly and loudly to me. I'm just a dumb pākehā who can't get much further than a couple of standard greetings in te reo... and my dictionary doesn't help much - it simply tells me that you're asking everyone to develop more wooden shelters (which doesn't sound like it's an accurate translation!) Ha. You understood perfectly. Just celebrating the passing of the 600 article mark and wishing that the wiki will grow and flourish in appropriately poetic language. but you knew that. Kahuroa 12:11, 16 Paenga-whāwhā 2007 (UTC)
Kia ora - Thanks for your vote on my behalf - the proposal was enacted today by Vardion. Cheers for your support. Kia kaha koe. Kahuroa 07:26, 23 Paenga-whāwhā 2007 (UTC)
